Sound is a powerful force which can heal and connect us to our essence. In many ancient traditions, it is said that all creation was born from an original vibration, a source hidden deep within our own beings. In this series of workshops, we will explore the possibility of music to calm, open and heal, connecting our body and mind to the subtle rhythms of nature, both within and all around us. We will work with basic asana, stable posture, pranayama, the science of breath, and finally, nada, the essential vibration, pure sound. We will share practices nurtured for generations to both ground and uplift us, a secret key to the limitless peace, power and bliss within.
Pavitra and Polash practice Baul Fakiri under the guidance of their gurus, Fakir Daulat Shah, Parvathy Baul and Alihim Fakir and Kulavadhut Satpurananda in India and Bangladesh. Baul Fakiri is an ancient oral tradition of music, yoga and living wisdom rooted for centuries in the land of Bengal. It incorporates streams of Sahajia Buddhism, Tantra, Vaishnavism and Sufism, yet is not bound to any single belief system, free from the boundaries. The Baul is a holy madman who lives life in the heart of spontaneous being, dedicated to a universal truth, the indescribable love of love itself.
Each workshop is 2 hours and will take place in the beautiful old apple groves of Cate Hill Orchard. Two sessions offered weekly in July, Thursday evenings at 5pm and Sunday morning at 6 30am. Please RSVP as we are only able to accept a limited number of participants to ensure social distancing. More details to be shared by email with those who express interest. Thank you for your presence.
We look forward to being together in this journey of collective healing in these turbulent times.
